A Growing Need

As we continue to advance in our technology; the need for ownership and control over our online identities increases. The social media and engagement platforms we interact with daily, are engineered as silo networks. Meaning, your username only works within that network and is most likely owned by that network. Online Identity needs to be owned by the identity. Universally recognized, interoperable, and self-custodial. We find the solution in @handles on the Bitcoin Blockchain.

Our solution

@handles is a secure, all-in-one Identity asset. Created using the combination of:

  • Ordinal Inscriptions

  • Recursive Inscriptions

  • Parent/Child Inscriptions

  • An Indexing Standard

There have already been over 30,000 @handles inscriptions and growing. Start collecting today!

Why the Bitcoin Blockchain?

The Bitcoin Blockchain is no longer just a ledger and trading medium. Recent developments have now given us the ability to store additional forms of data and media. Including text, image, video, audio, and code lines. This is done through the process of inscribing (embedding) data onto the smallest denominations of Bitcoin called SATS.

Once stored, this data becomes securely locked into time and space. Protected from corruption, centralized control, and owned solely by the one who inscribes and holds it. The Ordinals Protocol allows anyone to inscribe by means of a Bitcoin Transaction.

Ordinals on the Bitcoin Blockchain are:

  • Immutable - unable to altered

  • Inimitable - first is first

  • indelible - your keys, your wallet

Cost Effective and a Fair Mint

There is no mint price going to a creator, nor any reservation of specific @handles assigned to an individual or group. Each @handle is minted fairly on a first come first serve basis. Inscribers are subject to the same pricing as anyone else.

The price depends on the current network fees and/or any service fees issued by an inscription service. @handles inscriptions typically cost a few dollars each.

Strengths

  • Singular Variation: @handles offer a single and consistent variation. Making them more exclusive and scarce. While suffix models contain endless variations like .infinity.

  • Top-Level Identifier: @handles inherently serve as a top-level identifier. Allowing for a more robust Parent/Child syntax than a suffix model.

  • Universal Recognition: "@," is recognized globally and represents the identity of individuals, entities, and ideas. Fostering easy comprehension and user onboarding.

  • Blockchain Efficient:

The "@" symbol is more space-efficient than any suffix model (such as .sats, .btc, or .infinity) Offering a cleaner 1-and-done alternative compared to repeat name inscriptions that follow endless variants of .extensions

  • Immutable, Inimitable, and Indelible: Inscriptions on Bitcoin use the Ordinal Protocol, and once inscribed, cannot be altered, duplicated, or taken away from its owner.

  • Scarce and Exclusive: @handles follows Ordinal Theory. Where first is first and forever. There can be no duplicates, and no one can change that. The value in this is clear.

  • Service Agnostic: @handles is designed as a base layer standard. Allowing developers to leverage these assets for use within any number of current or future applications. From Web2 to Web3, to the Metaverse, and beyond!
